108, 323, 071322 response reading 108. appointment ceremony (2) But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. hymnal 323 1 Call'd of God, we honor the call; Lord, we'll go wherever You say, where you lead, come pain or pleasure, we would follow You every day. Who shall turn us back from You, Lord? Death itself, from going Your way? Who shall turn us back from you, Lord? Death itself, from going Your way? 2 Achor's Vale, or doesolate waste, there we'd bear the Gospel You gave, Carry love through streets like Sodom's Anywhere, to seek and to save! or agree a slave to be, Lord, in the joy of being Your slave! Or agree a slave to be, Lord, in the joy of being Your slave! 3 Honor, glory, power and praise, Lord, my God You only are due! Shame and scorn and cross You carried; Grant us grace to carry them too, without name or fame, but, oh, Lord, joy and thanks, to serve before You Without name or fame, but, oh, Lord, Joy and thanks, to serve before You! amen 1 Kings 7:13-22 13 King Solomon sent to Tyre and brought Huram, 14 whose mother was a widow from the tribe of Naphtali and whose father was a man of Tyre and a craftsman in bronze. Huram was highly skilled and experienced in all kinds of bronze work. He came to King Solomon and did all the work assigned to him. 15 He cast two bronze pillars, each eighteen cubits high and twelve cubits around, by line. 16 He also made two capitals of cast bronze to set on the tops of the pillars; each capital was five cubits high. 17 A network of interwoven chains festooned the capitals on top of the pillars, seven for each capital. 18 He made pomegranates in two rows encircling each network to decorate the capitals on top of the pillars. He did the same for each capital. 19 The capitals on top of the pillars in the portico were in the shape of lilies, four cubits high. 20 On the capitals of both pillars, above the bowl-shaped part next to the network, were the two hundred pomegranates in rows all around. 21 He erected the pillars at the portico of the temple. The pillar to the south he named Jakin and the one to the north Boaz. 22 The capitals on top were in the shape of lilies. And so the work on the pillars was completed. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. amen.
